The CMA’s Market Investigation into Investment Consultancy and Fiduciary Management Services

Speaker:

Alison Gold (Project Director) and Emily Chissell (Assistant Project Director), The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Alison and Emily are leading the market investigation into investment consultants.

As CMA will be in the middle of its investigation, there will be some limits on what it will be able to present and discuss.  For example, whilst the CMA is happy to discuss and take questions on topics such as

  • The practicalities of a Market Investigation, and
  • The CMA’s issues statement, in particular the theories of harm and the potential remedies.

The CMA would like to emphasise that it has not yet reached a view on any of these issues, so would not be in a position to discuss, for example, its thinking on any of the points, or its views on any of the responses received.
