SPP Event for Early Career Professionals: The Debates

You’re invited to join our annual Early Career Professionals Debates event on Wednesday, 3rd December, from 16:00 to 19:00. This event will bring together industry experts to generate discussion on two key issues in pensions in an informal debate setting. Both debates will conclude with a live audience vote to decide the winner! Following the session there will be networking drinks to enable you to connect with others and continue the discussions.

This year’s debate topics are:

• Should the default position be that pension scheme surpluses are returned to the scheme sponsor?
  • FOR: Anna Taylor, Partner, Pinsent Masons LLP
  • AGAINST: Maggie Rodger, Co-Chair, Association of Member Nominated Trustees
• Must Automatic Enrolment contributions be increased beyond the 8% minimum now?
  • FOR: George Ellis, Associate Director, Willis Towers Watson
  • AGAINST: Yassin Isman, Associate Partner and Senior DC Consultant, Aon
