EDI activity is divided into the following key areas of SPP output:

  • Events
    • Working alongside other industry bodies, stakeholders and smaller organisations doing valuable work (/with important representation) in the EDI arena.
    • Continue creation and sharing of recorded EDI resources, including storytelling.
    • Continued commitment to diversity in speaker panels for all events.
  • Committees and Groups
    • Responding to industry consultations as appropriate.
    • Training on inclusive chairing.
    • Encourage member firms to consider EDI aspects of nominees.
    • Tap into the diverse pipeline for succession planning brought to the committees by early career observers.
    • Explore a role in industry EDI data improvement with TPR.
    • EDI Group and ambitions refreshed with the support of Council, rebadging EDI Group – E being Equity.
  • Press / Profile
    • Regularly dedicate press columns to EDI matters.
    • Promoting the value of EDI in our industry (and countering complacency).
    • Review the Society’s Vision, Mission and Culture statements, to consider updates from an EDI perspective?
  • Amplification
    • Amplifying / being a conduit for the good work of others / (external/ internal).
    • Widely publicising details of external EDI events organised by other industry bodies, as appropriate.
